THE LANGLADE HOSPITAL
board of trustees is made up of
volunteers from the community. It is the task of the board to set policies and to
provide guidance for the management of the hospital.
Visible Changes
I have been serving as the chairman of the Langlade Hospital Board of
Trustees for the past seven years and have been a member of the board for many
years before that. During my tenure, the new hospital was completed in May
2012, along with the Center for Health and Performance.
These are some of the most significant and visible changes that the
community has seen. However, behind the new facilities, there have been many
changes that may not be as visible to the community but most certainly have
been appreciated by our patients. These have included modern, research-based
improvements to the quality of care for the patient.
We have seen many continuing enhancements to patient care that have made
care much safer and much more private. As a result, patient hospital stays are
shorter and more patient care can now be done safely on an outpatient basis.
In addition to patient safety and quality, we implemented a new Service
Excellence program several years back that emphasizes treating all patients and
visitors with courtesy, dignity and respect. Hospital employees and volunteers
undergo regular training that underscores the importance of patient privacy,
showing real compassion, as well as being extra-sensitive to the needs of our patients.
We hear frequently from patients about how professionally and courteously
they are treated at Langlade Hospital. So the changes we have made aren’t just
on the outside; we continue to make many internal changes as well to ensure that
we have you, the patient, in mind all the time. We want to give you our very best.
Mike Turney, Chairperson of the
Board of Trustees at Langlade Hospital
